How to Grow on TikTok in the Next 30 Days
Welcome to my 30-Day TikTok Plan to help you grow from 0-10k followers, FAST.
Now, when I say “perfect,” I don’t mean this is the only strategy that works or that it will magically guarantee results. Instead, I use “perfect” here to describe an ideal scenario: if you have zero distractions and unlimited time to create, this is exactly how you could grow on TikTok as quickly as possible.
You can think of this as your week-by-week roadmap — a clear plan to take you from zero to 10,000 followers in just 30 days.
30-Day TikTok Plan: Ground 0
There are likely two types of creators reading this post…
The first is someone who has no idea what kind of content they want to create. In other words, they don’t know what they want to be known for, and they definitely haven’t figured out their niche yet.
The second person is someone who’s clear on what kind of content they want to make and the platform they want to build. They know what they want to be known for on TikTok and probably already have a niche in mind.
If you’re the latter, congratulations! You can jump straight ahead to week one.
Now, if you’re the former, you actually need to start this 30-day TikTok plan, HERE at ground zero.
The Content Buffet
If you’re still unsure what niche you want to create content in, then I want you to treat content creation like a buffet. You will need to sample a little bit of everything before deciding what you actually enjoy and what your audience enjoys seeing from you.
Without some sense of direction, even the best 30-day TikTok roadmap won’t take you very far. You need to have a rough idea of your “finish line” before you start running the race.
And that’s completely okay! If you haven’t figured it out yet, your strategy will likely look different from someone who already knows their niche.
The important thing is that you start experimenting, because clarity comes from the process of creating.
My biggest tip here? Try everything. Don’t hold back. If you have a video idea, create it. Test out cooking videos, cleaning routines, coffee recipes, mocktail mixes, cozy lifestyle clips, neighborhood adventures, or even long chats in the car. Nothing is off-limits right now.

For the next 30 days, follow every creative hunch you have. This trial period is where you’ll start to see what feels most authentic to you and what your audience resonates with.
Remember: clarity doesn’t come from waiting; it comes from creating.
For example, when I started my personal lifestyle account, I didn’t have any business goals in mind. I just wanted a creative outlet, a place to post lifestyle content and create freely without worrying about strategy or growth. Initially, I tried everything. And by taking action, I quickly learned what I didn’t enjoy creating.
Growth wasn’t the goal at that stage. The goal was to determine the type of creator I wanted to be.
This approach is the best way to get clarity on what your personal brand actually means to you. Once you have a clearer vision of the content you want to create and the audience you want to reach, that’s when you’re ready to dive into this 30-day TikTok roadmap and start building real traction.
30-Day TikTok Plan: Week One
Goal: Take Messy Action (to start identifying formats that get the best early traction)
(First things first, messy doesn’t mean random. Okay? We’re still going to have a refined growth strategy.)
Now, let’s set up your account.
Day 1-2
- Create an account, set up your bio, profile picture, and more.
- Begin doing content research.
Profile Setup
Setting up your TikTok profile is similar to setting up any other social platform, but here, you want it to be short, sweet, and punchy.
Your profile photo should reflect your niche or the type of content you create. For example, on a lifestyle account, I might use a picture of myself with coffee, because that’s the vibe of my content.
Your bio should do two things clearly:
- Show the content you’re posting or the value you provide
- Show who you are
For example, if your goal is to help busy moms work out at home, your bio could be:
Approachable at-home workouts
If I can work out with kids climbing on me, so can you 😂
This lets new followers instantly know what you’re about and gives them a reason to hit “Follow.”
Content Research
Want to do content research together? Watch this video and skip ahead to 6:30. That’s an example of how I do content research – plus it shows you behind the scenes of my free TikTok content calendar.
I recommend doing your content research directly on TikTok. Open the app and start searching for the type of content you want to create. The recommended searches are a great way to see what’s trending and get inspiration for new video ideas.
Do this on your phone, and filter the content by the most popular videos from the last 30–60 days. If you want to grow on TikTok now, you need to see what’s working right now.
Click into videos that catch your eye and explore the creator’s account. Pay attention to the view-to-follower ratio. Videos that get more views than the creator has followers are usually the ones that go viral for those creators.
Make detailed notes (in the content calendar) of the video, audio, hook, text, and video elements.
Here are a few formats to explore:
- Talking to the camera: share thoughts, tips, or stories directly with your audience
- Voiceovers: narrate over video clips to tell a story or explain something
- B-roll with music/audio: show visuals with trending audio to engage viewers
- Lipsyncing: add personality and relatability with fun or trending sounds
- Photo/carousel videos: turn images into dynamic content with music or text
The goal here is to experiment and see what feels natural for you, while learning what resonates with your target audience in your niche.
Finding Your Signature Series
During this research phase, pay close attention to ideas that could turn into a signature series for your content.
A signature series is one of my favorite ways to encourage people to revisit your profile. It signals to viewers that more of this type of content is coming, which makes them more likely to hit the follow button right from the start.
For example, I could create a signature series around discovering the best homemade pumpkin spice latte. Each week, I’d try a new recipe and review it, giving my audience tips and guidance for their own pumpkin spice adventures.
Find something very specific to you, and at the end of each video, remind people to follow along for the next part.
Day 3-7
Now it’s time to put all your research and planning into action. Start with your signature series. This is your core content that will help you attract followers and keep people coming back.
Next, let’s talk about posting frequency. The next 30 days are what I refer to as your sprint phase. This is your high-growth sprint. It should be 90% focused on strategy and growth. It’s not meant to be sustainable in the long term. After these 30 days, you can dial back to a slower, more manageable pace and focus on nurturing your audience, which we’ll cover later.

During this 30-day TikTok challenge, aim to post 3-5 times per day. In our perfect world, the more you post, the faster you grow.
If this sounds scary, I want to remind you of a couple of things.
- This is a spring phase; you don’t need to maintain this for the long term.
- There are so many different content types you can post. Use b-roll, share photos, and sometimes just post viral 7-second clips.
- These are not meant to be perfect. They’re intentional (because we conducted our content research), but they’re not perfect (i.e., messy action).
This might be hard for my perfectionists reading this. However, remember that quantity can lead to quality. And just hit publish before you overthink it.
For anyone wondering how to go from posting zero times a day to 3-5x/day, here are two easy ways to get started:
- Repurpose what you already have: Go through your camera roll, create drafts, and repurpose content into new videos.
- Use high-quality stock footage: I’m not talking corporate ads. Find stock media that feels like your style and complements your content. This can save time and make your workflow smoother during this sprint.
For example, I personally use Storyblocks for B-roll. They’ve been my go-to since 2021, and all the clips you’ve seen in this post are from Storyblocks, and they’re also the sponsor of this post.

What is Storyblocks?
Storyblocks provides you with unlimited downloads of diverse, high-quality media for a single, predictable subscription cost. You can choose a monthly or annual plan, so you can unlock an endless source of content that lets you test, experiment, and create more effective videos.
If you’re following this 30-day TikTok roadmap, having extra footage in your back pocket is a game-changer. It keeps you from burning out while ensuring you always have something fresh to post.
What I love about Storyblocks is that their library is frequently updated with commissioned content based on trending topics and the topics that members are searching for. What does this mean? That means you’ll always have curated, on-trend footage to keep your videos relevant.
Additionally, all downloads are 100% royalty-free, pre-licensed, and ready to use. So you can focus on creating without worrying about legal rights or permissions.
I genuinely believe that B-roll elevates content, so if you want access to an unlimited source of media to enhance your TikTok videos, I recommend checking out Storyblocks.

30-Day TikTok Plan: Week Two
Goal: Refine Strategy and Build Community
After your first 7 days, review your analytics. By now, you’ll have anywhere from 21 to 35 posts to review. This is exactly why creators who post more tend to grow faster; having this much data gives you way more insight than just analyzing 3-5 posts.
Use this information to refine your content for the upcoming week. Keep posting 3-5 times a day:
- Half of your posts: Improve on content that performed well last week.
- Half of your posts: Test new formats, styles, or creative ideas.
Remember, nothing has to be perfect. Growth comes from taking messy actions, posting consistently, learning in public, and changing as you go.
Don’t forget your signature series; turn it into a playlist on your profile so your audience knows there’s more coming and can easily follow along.
Then, there are also a few new things that I want you to do:
- Try to add CTA’s at the end of some videos (Follow CTA on signature series, Comment CTA, Tag a friend, etc.)
- Engage 10-15 minutes/day. Reply to every comment and comment on their content (show love to the people who are showing you love. That’s the best way to start building your community)
30-Day TikTok Plan: Week Three
Goal: Build Brand Consistency
At this point, you are starting to get the hang of things! You’ve been posting consistently, replying to people, adding your CTA, and you are building your community. Now, it’s time to build brand consistency.
Of course, we’re going to start with your analytics. Now you can look at the past 14 days of posts. With this data, I recommend that you:
- Try to hone in on 1-2 video formats that predictably perform well (this is going to help with brand consistency)
- Re-upload flops → change hook/cover text, trim 3 seconds, add trending sound. Oftentimes, with a bit of love, your flops can actually become hits! (This can also help if you’re feeling burnt out.)
There are also some new things that I want you to try:
- New content format: Start replying to comments with video replies
- Start using consistent colors, fonts, and intro lines so your content is more instantly recognizable.
- Launch a second signature series (don’t forget to turn it into a playlist)
What would your signature series be?
30-Day TikTok Plan: Week Four
Goal: The Final Push.
At this point, you’re still posting 3-5 times a day. Some of your posts will be part of your series, some will be video responses to comments, and some will be experimental video or post types. At this point, your branding should be becoming consistent, and you should always be using a variety of CTA’s to boost engagement.
Now, it’s time for our final push.
Identify Your Core Community Flywheel

What is your core community flywheel? It’s a self-reinforcing loop where:
You discover which core pieces of content → spark engagement → which builds connection → which drives more comments/shares → which leads to new followers → which sparks engagement → and so on.
I know it’s really easy to get caught up in the views. But there’s a much more important number here: Followers.
So when you look at your analytics, don’t get hung up on the videos that got you the most views. Instead, focus on the videos that brought in new followers. Once you know what those videos are, fine-tune them, repackage them, and recreate content along those lines.
Now, an important thing to note is that social media is constantly evolving, which means your community flywheel will also change over time. What works for the next 90 days might not work in 100 days. So, take advantage of what’s working, while it’s working, and be ready to change and adapt when it stops working.
This fourth week is normally when things start to click, but if you’ve put in the work and you’ve made it this far and the results aren’t what you’re hoping, I still have a few new things for you to try in the last week of this 30-day TikTok roadmap:
- New content format: Controversial, shock-factor content
- Add collaboration into your content: Duet/stitch 3–5 viral creators per week in your niche.
TikTok Roadmap: After 30 Days
Congratulations! You made it to the end of this 30-day TikTok Roadmap. Now guess what? You’re a content creator! Which means, you can’t stop posting. Don’t ghost the audience you just spent 30 days building. But it is time to slow down and create a consistent posting schedule.
We discussed the 30-day sprint as your period, where 90% of what you post is ‘growth’ content. But just like any athlete, you need your cool-down/stretch time before you take a nap.
So now we’re shifting the focus to be 70% nurture content: storytelling → behind the scenes → Q&A → mindless (no strategy).
- Week 5: Post 2x a day (or 1 post + 1 live)
- Week 6: Post 1x a day
- Week 7+: Choose your consistency (3-5 x week)
You can still post your “growth engines” or core community flywheel content. It just doesn’t have to be as much.
If you’d like to learn more about the TikTok algorithm, I recommend reading this post next.
Thank you so much for being here! I’ll see you in the next one. Follow your joy.
