I’m Rebuilding My Entire Creator Business (Part 1)

April 22, 2026

I built a successful creator business… then everything stopped working. Here’s what I’m doing to fix my business in 2026.

I’m rebuilding my entire creator business.

This is not something I thought I’d say six months ago.

But if you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’ve always been very open about what’s actually happening behind the scenes in my business. And I think this journey is going to be my most vulnerable yet.

While this isn’t a typical step-by-step educational post, I think it’s important for me to share what I’m going through as a content creator because if you’re a content creator looking to scale your business, this will be relevant now or in the future.

So yes, that wasn’t clickbait. I’ve decided to start rebuilding my entire creator business.

For clarification, the content that I’m posting isn’t changing. But my business, how it operates internally, the things I’m focusing my time on, and behind-the-scenes of running a creator business, will all be changing drastically.

Why am I making this shift? It’s become obvious now more than ever that the systems that got me here are no longer working for the season that I’m currently in.

I have new goals, a new direction for my business, and I’m a mom now. Because of those three things, I have to rebuild my business.

I want to be open with you and share this entire journey. In this post, I’m going to talk about what I noticed that signaled to me that things were off, why I want to make changes to scale, what systems weren’t working or became outdated, and what I plan on changing.

Let’s start with: THE WAKE-UP CALL

(everything that pointed to my business needing to change)

Last year, while I was on maternity leave, I took the opportunity to step back and clarify what I wanted my new vision and goals to be when I went back to work. And it made me realize that, to get there, I needed to stop working IN my business and focus on working ON my business.

I needed to shift my identity from content creator to business owner or CEO.

Basically, what that meant to me was actually looking more at my business numbers like income and expenses, learning to be a better leader for my team, and getting clearer on the vision for my business, instead of only thinking about the next video.

So when I came back to work, I did just that. I started by reviewing the Profit and Loss for the months I was on maternity leave, and I discovered that my business revenue was down about 50% compared to the year before. This was the first realization of many that I would have, and it felt like they just kept getting worse.

At first, I associated the loss with being on maternity leave, but the more I looked into it, the more I noticed that the funnels my team and I had created over the past few years were operating at a 1% conversion rate. Some were even converting at 0%.

So even though we were posting consistently and bringing in leads. Any “opportunity” to convert a lead to a customer was vanishing. We got people in our doors, but something was broken.

After reading The Science of Scaling by Benjamin Hardy and Blake Erickson and 100M Offer by Alex Hormozi, we started completely reworking my offers, funnels, and sales pages.

The real wake-up call came later, when I sat down with our tax team and gave a full recap of 2025, focusing on income, profit, and expenses.

My 2025 income looked more like 2022’s income, which meant I had made 32% less in 2025 than I did in 2024. This was the FIRST time my business income went backward instead of forward.

Going into this, I knew that my overall income would be lower.

  • I’d been on maternity leave from March-July
  • We closed the doors to BSP in December of 2024
  • We didn’t do a launch in 2025 (which typically brings in around an additional $100k)

But another realization was to come: when we factored in expenses, the business was operating at a loss, meaning our net income was negative.

This was a first for my business.

And it meant that I had to stop blaming timing or maternity leave and actually ask myself a harder question.

Is my business itself working?

I knew that 2026 was going to be a year of re-structuring, but it wasn’t until I saw those numbers that I knew it was time to make serious changes. Not just with the business but with myself.

I want to lean in, to evolve, and to figure this out. Because I know that if I can, then when other people reach this point, I’ll be able to help them too.

WHAT WAS ACTUALLY BROKEN? What wasn’t?

I needed to get real with myself and ask what the business is doing well. And where is it struggling?

STRENGTHS:

  • Social media and content. Even with maternity leave, we grew 140k YouTube subscribers, 60k on Instagram, and 40k on TikTok
  • Lead generation: we create freebies people want, we’re getting opt-ins, and we’re going to my email list
  • Customer satisfaction: less than 1% refund and AMAZING results for students
  • Collaborations: our brand collabs alone were over 6 figures in income

WEAKNESSES:

  • Over-complication: I have been creating offers since 2020 without discontinuing anything or cleaning up my internal systems, which has led to way too many offers and confused my audience.
  • I lacked confidence in my offers and packaging.
  • Systems: team structure, project organization, things slipping through the cracks, everything relies on me, I’m the bottleneck, it felt like nothing happened unless I touched it, fixed it, or asked for it.
  • No clear vision: instead of moving the business forward, we were just reacting to everything that came our way. This looked like putting out fires, checking the boxes, and posting every day.
  • Decision-making and protecting my time: I’m a people pleaser, and I need to work on this.

My most successful years as a content creator were 2021-2024. Those were my true ‘content creator business years’ when I was enjoying creating content and wasn’t trying to be “hands off” with my business. Creating content is what I am great at.

However, as soon as I tried to scale and be hands-off with my business, things started falling apart. And it’s what led me to realize that my internal processes were put together with duct tape and glue.

My lack of business growth wasn’t a discipline problem. I work hard, I batch content, and I know how to hustle. The problem was my systems and my own focus.

Systems

Whatever it took to scale to a yearly six-figure business won’t be the same as what it takes to scale to a 7- or 8-figure business. I had to admit that I have no idea how to grow a “hands-off” style business that could run without me.

Focus

Because my weeks were disappearing, and come Friday, I wasn’t even sure what I’d worked on that week to move the needle forward.

This is not what I want my business to feel like. I don’t want to do more. I want the business to operate differently.

So I had two options.

  1. Pretend I had all the answers
  2. Ask for help

Asking for help was harder than I expected. So, I threw spaghetti at the wall and ended up choosing the option that created the least friction and felt the most aligned for me.

I joined a 12-month coaching group that is focused on business structure and leadership. The last time I had a coach was in 2021, and every time I’ve worked with one, I’ve seen tremendous growth in my business.

I’m very excited to be in this program, surrounded by people who are on this journey with me and already have businesses that I aspire to have.

WHAT I PLAN ON CHANGING

Before we talk about what I’m changing in my business, I want you to know where I’m going. Here are my very honest and very personal goals for the year.

1 Year Goals:

  • $1,000,000+ in revenue by December 31
  • Help over 100 students replace their 9-5 income with content creation by December 31
  • Set up 1 income stream that doesn’t rely on how often I post/my face by December 31
  • Restructure the business and my team

These are my one-year goals for this year. But in the long term (and this is where things get scarier to say out loud), I want to establish myself as an industry leader. I want to be the Gary Vee or Cody Snachez for Content Creators building their personal brands.

I feel like there are many inspiring educators who help business owners, small businesses, and entrepreneurs, but fewer who focus on content creators and personal branding. So that would be my next goal.

To get there, my identity, my standards, and my business have to change. Let’s start with my identity and the standards that need to change.

My Work Day

I need to start the day with revenue. That means I need to focus on a task that’s going to move the needle forward, creating traction that moves in the right direction. Now that I know the goal, I need to do one thing every day that’s going to move the needle toward that goal.

When it comes to how my business is going to change, there is a lot that needs to change.

My Business

I need to improve, add, or change:

  • Funnels
  • Systems
  • AI
    • an assistant who never forgets
    • a marketer who never gets tired
    • a strategist who sees patterns instantly
    • a systems builder who doesn’t miss details
    • a copywriter who sounds like me

I don’t want to waste my time writing SOPs, chasing admin, or bleeding money like I did last year. AI can help me gain leverage, and leverage is the only way this business is going to grow without me burning out.

THE 7-FIGURE STRATEGY

Now, I’m going to show you what my 7-figure business strategy for this year looks like.

If you want to see my talk about this business strategy in depth, watch this video (and skip ahead to 21:30).

My biggest takeaway from this 7-figure business strategy is that I need to focus on real capacity rather than fantasy productivity.

What do I mean by this? It is a fantasy to think I can post on Instagram and TikTok 5 days a week while also producing 1 YouTube video a week. I know that this is going to burn me out.

Knowing this has forced me to look at what I want this year. I want to scale the BSP Model to 625 sales. To do that, I need 12,500 leads and a funnel conversion of 5%.

How do I get there? I need about 1,042 leads a month, which I know I can get from two solid YouTube videos. So I don’t need to be creating content every single day. I need to focus on those two YouTube videos that will drive leads and sales toward my main goal.

But even more than that, I need to raise my funnel conversion rate to 5%. It is wild to me how much extra work I’ve been doing to maintain a 1% funnel conversion rate.

I know that this is just the starting point.

CREATOR → CEO SHIFT

This year is not about me posting more. It’s about becoming a different version of myself as a business owner.

I don’t want to be the bottleneck anymore. I don’t want to lack confidence when running my business and making decisions.

And I want systems that allow the business to move without my hands in every step. I want to figure out how to scale a creator business without needing your face all the time.

This is a new chapter for my business.

  • No more hustle
  • More leverage
  • No more output
  • Better systems
